Spiti Jeep Safari
Conducted on some of the highest mountain roads in the world, our jeep safaris are considered epic trips. The Himalayan valleys of Lahaul, Spiti, Kinnaur and Baspa offer jeep safaris through the splendor of rocky escarpments and snow-covered peaks.
Day 1: Delhi – Shimla
Travel on a train from Delhi to Shimla. Overnight at hotel.
Day 2: In Shimla
Sightseeing Shimla. Overnight at hotel.
Day 3: Shimla – Sarahan
After breakfast a 7-hour drive to Sarahan in the Spiti Valley. En route stop at Rampur. Reach Sarahan in the evening. Overnight at hotel.
Day 4: Sarahan – Sangla
Visit the Bhima Kali temple. Continue drive to Sangla. Overnight at tented camp in Sangla.
Day 5: In Sangla
After an early breakfast, drive to Chitkul — the last Indian village before Tibet. Overnight in Sangla.
Day 6: Sangla – Nako
After breakfast a six-hour drive to Nako, a quaint little village situated in the upper Sutlej valley.
Arrive Nako by late evening. Overnight in camp.
Day 7: Nako – Sichilling
After breakfast, drive to Tabo and visit the monastery. After lunch, continue drive to Sichilling. Overnight in camp.
Day 8: In Schilling
After breakfast, drive upto Dhankar monastery, which is perched on mud cliffs. Return to camp for lunch. After lunch, drive to Pin valley to visit the tantric Gungra monastery. Overnight in camp.
Day 9: Sichilling – Losar
After breakfast an eight-hour drive to Ki monastery. Drive on to Losar. Lunch is en route.
Overnight in camp.
Day 10: Losar – Manali
After breakfast drive towards Lahaul, crossing Kunzum Pass (5440 m) the highest point on this road to Kulu valley. On arrival in Manali, check in to hotel.
Day 11: In Manali
Spend the day visiting the Hadimba temple, Nagar, Manali Bazaar etc. Overnight at hotel.
Day 12: Manali – Delhi
Drive to airport for flight back to Delhi.
Please note : It is possible to continue on to Leh on Day 10 after crossing the Kunzum Pass.
