Gaja Trek

This trek takes you past traditional mountain villages and gives you a glimpse of hill culture and lives.The snow-clad Himalayas provide a dramatic backdrop for this scenic trek.

Day 1: Arrive Camp Panther, Shivpuri

Day 2 : Drive to Gaja (50 Kms/ 2 Hrs)  – Passar Khet Trek (18 Kms/ 6 Hrs)

Early morning wake up followed by breakfast.  Post breakfast,  we drive to Gaja (about 50 kms from camp), the starting point of our trek. On arrival at Gaja, we start our trek on a easy trail.  After about 2 hours to reach our lunch spot, a beautiful scenic meadow. Post lunch, we trek for about 2 hours up hill and reach Ghanta Karna, an ancient temple.After spending some time at the temple, we trek downhill for 2 hrs and reach short of Passar Khet, our camping site for the day. On arrival, we set up camp. Overnight stay in dome tents.

Day 3: Trek Passar Khet – Shivpuri Village (18 Kms/ 6 – 7 Hrs)

Morning wake up followed by breakfast.  Post breakfast, we walk gradually down for about 6 km on a forest trail. From there, we walk up to the ridge (20 min) and continue on a trail along the ridge.  The trail for most part is on an exposed ridge overlooking the valleys on both sides but the trail ascends and descends gently.  After about 4 hours of trekking we reach Timli Village.  Picnic lunch en-route near the village temple.  From the village, the trail moves downhill.  It would take about 2 hours to reach our campsite for the day at Shivpuri Village. Overnight stay in dome tents.

Day 4: Trek Shivpuri – Neergaddu (Approx 16 Kms / 6 – 7 Hrs), Departure Camp

Post breakfast, we trek through forests for 5 km uphill to Bawani village.  The trail has panoramic views of River Ganga and Shivpuri village and takes about 3 hours.  We arrive at the top for lunch. After spending some time at the top we walk downhill passing a couple of hill villages.  Arrive at the road head, board the waiting coach and drive back to Base Camp. Depart from Camp.
